I should change the name of this blog
to Rejected Again.
I had applied for a very cool fellowship.
Just got rejected... didn't make it past the first round screening.
Not terribly surprised, but I thought I'd at least make it to the interview stage before they rejected me. You know, to keep with the theme.
(Never fear... the "bitterness" is almost entirely tongue-in-cheek at this point.)

6 little fish:
I'm sorry :( And I think you should keep your name- it puts the cutest little picture in my head every time I see it (little butterflyflish sitting in a law class with a parrotfish, cowfish, trumpet fish, clown fish, etc. the professor is probably a shark).
(((HUGS))) I'm so sorry. And you're really scaring me at this point. Hope you get something fantastic and soon!
LL -- oh man! I totally know who the trumpetfish is my class!!!
I think that would make a great comic :)
Those were all my favorite fish when I was scuba diving (I saw that you're licensed too- have you ever been able to go since having Clownfish? I can't imagine when we'll be able to now that we have Landon). I just wanted to put the little spotted cow fish in my pocket and carry him around with me- so adorable!
No, I haven't been since Clownfish. My last great dive was in (gulp) 2002!
We're thinking of trying to change this this spring break. If I'm not pregnant.
Well that blows. Fellowships are so fickle though. You never get the ones you think are in the bag, then you DO get the ones they award to, like, tenured professors. It's really weird. I've gotten about five research grants and fellowships in the past two years, so if you want advice, send me an e-mail.
