Ah! I do this too. It makes me so happy. Even if what I really find offensive is the fact that Facebook thinks I need to lose weight, get an online degree, and buy what I suspect are male enhancement drugs.
...This may reflect poorly on the content of my Facebook profile/wall.
i started doing that a while ago, back when i was still in a relationship. every other ad was for engagement rings, with the common theme of "you need your man to give you these shinies." ads that have the goal of trying to make me feel like i need jewelry (or like i need to push engagement!) to be a whole woman really rub me the wrong way, so i marked them all as pornographic.
hahahaha I totally do it too. I always flag Obama ads as offensive and of course the one's about weight loss and matchmaking. NO I do not want to join a Catholic singles website, thank you!
I'm pretty sure Obama wants me to work and pay my taxes, but thanks, Facebook. I especially hate the ads that tell me to lose weight. Do I get those just because I'm a woman, or does Facebook actually know I'm fat? Stop judging me, Facebook! I'm depressed, I need a donut.
Blogging is weird -- spend an hour putting together a moderately clever round up, no comments. Write a 30 second post about subverting facebook ads, get more comments than I've had in months.
Ha ha! Glad to see others are doing this. Since I got engaged in June, they keep putting up ads with 20 year old brides and offers for pre-wedding tanning. I am definitely not 20-something and I have never tanned anything on my freckled self and never will.
