And I kind of feel like Charlie Brown kicking the football... the happy running part when he deludes himself into thinking maybe, just maybe Lucy won't pull the ball away this time. Maybe.
It didn't end up working out. Then I ended up in the job I have and I am so very happy, so very blessed. But this gig isn't permanent, and I'll need a new plan next fall.
So I applied for the football job again. And I have an interview lined up.
I am in a much better place than I was last year. Because now I really do believe that sometimes when things don't work out the way we want them to, they still work out the way they are supposed to. So I'm going to try again.
Bring it, Lucy.

ReplyDeleteI've often found that while things don't work out the way that I'd like, they work out much better than they would have had I gotten my way. So even if Lucy pulls the ball away again, just remember that you'll probably end up doing something better than playing football, anyway.
