One potato, two potato, three potato, four, five potato, six potato, seven potato, more!
Skunk in the barnyard. P U! Who's gonna eat him? That's you! (If you know the old 'shave and a hair cut' rhythm, that's what this is.)
Bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish. How many pieces do you wish? (Strategy here -- you can name a number up to 10).
Doggie woggie says to step right out. (Mmm. Efficient.)
Funnily enough, I was familiar with the food-related ones. Do you remember others?
I know the first three, but the last one is totally new and I have a 6 year old brother. It's funny how so many of these things stay the same over time.
ReplyDeleteHmm let's see.
ReplyDeleteThere's eenie meanie miney mo. (Modified to be PC at my school.) Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers let him go, eenie meanie miney mo. And you are NOT it with a dirty dirty dishrag on your toe!
And 1-2-3 NOT IT! (Last one to shout NOT IT is in fact, It.)
And then there's "bunny up" where you says "Let's bunny up" and the last one to put up bunny ears and do a hop are It.
I'm sure there are even more out there.
Eenie meanie miney mo was the first one I thought of too. How is that not PC? Is it the dishrag part, which I've never heard before? Our ending was, "If he hollers, let him go. My mother says to pick this one, and out goes Y-O-U, and the colors are red, white and blue," or something like that.
ReplyDeleteAnother "not it" one is the finger on the nose. I never experienced that one before college, and it took me a little while to catch on.
