Clownfish has a small stuffed black and white tiger named Meow. He's had her for a while, actually. We all act as if Meow is a member of the family. Meow has her own back story that we've all developed over time. Her main character trait is that she's mischievous. She likes climbing up on my head and "hiding," flying through the air yelling "meee-ow!," and when she's naughty, she does a little "hee hee hee" laugh that sounds a bit like Ernie from Sesame Street.
Meow hides out in his back pack every day when he goes to school. It makes him feel better knowing that Meow is close by ... she's kind of a proxy for me and Bullshark. Now, apparently she's in pre-K. She goes by a nickname (Mow Mow) and has friends (Hee Hee). She usually gets to do the things Clownfish wishes he could do -- like play on the playground all day long instead of doing boring spelling words. She also has "arguments" with her friends and resolves them, which sometimes gives me insight into what really goes on when Clownfish is on the playground.
It will be a sad day indeed when he doesn't need her anymore. But, until then, meee-ow!
Boy, it sounds like Calvin and Hobbes.
