Mover and shaker

At six and a half months old, Angelfish is a girl ready to MOVE.

In an attempt to do the "I can't call it an Army crawl cuz Bullshark is in the Navy" Crawl, she has done though some distinct phases.  There is the starfish/surfer arms, neck and legs up belly spin, which allows her to face different directions.

There's the inchworm.  She pushes up her tush into the air, her legs almost straight, but her arms kind of still in starfish position out to the side.  Accordingly, she sort of supports her front end with her face and then falls, resulting in some forward movement. It looks a bit like an inchworm.

This morning, she did "downward dog" yoga pose -- back legs straight and arms straight. She supported her weight for a good few seconds.  I got that on video. Facebook friends will see it tonight. Probably.

Every now and then she coordinates the arms and legs in to accomplish a proper "I can't call it an Army ... etc." Crawl.  But then she stops, rolls over on her back, and eats her feet.

Food: I still haven't introduced meat yet for one simple reason -- laziness.  I haven't looked up how to make it myself.  I imagine it involves, you know, cooking it and pureeing it.  But we've been eating spicy stuff lately, no plain grilled chicken or anything. So... anyway. She's happily eating carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, avocado, applesauce, peaches, plums, blueberries, bananas and cereal... and combinations thereof (plum/blueberry/applesauce/rice is a lovely dark pink bit of breakfast deliciousness).  Hmmm... suggestions (other than meat) for what to make next?

I have to put this down because otherwise I'll forget it.  She growls. There really is no other word for that sound. Its a growl, it comes from her throat, and it is serious business. She emits it when she's hungry.

Nursing is a bit of a challenge now -- she really prefers the speed of the bottle. She gets frustrated sometimes and slaps my boob. She then looks up at me, like wtf Mom? I might start taking it personally.

She is an unrepentant belly sleeper, but if we get her into the crib when she first rubs her eyes, she goes right down. Naps can be short and frequent on a bad day or nicely organized and about 2 hours in length on a good one. But woe to the parent that misses the sleep window! The crying... it hurts me so much!

She still insists on waking up twice a night (depending on your definition of night) at 1 a.m.-ish and 4 a.m.-ish.

She really is the smileiest baby.  She'd give Lag Liv's Biscuit a run for her money.
