Clownfish moved into the next soccer age group -- he and his teammates are the youngest kids in the league. His team was routed today -- something like 7-0 and they pulled the other team's goalie halfway through. Apparently, they put all the young kids on one team. The other team looked like giants in comparison. Nice job, commish. I hope the whole season isn't like this. I hope we play at least one other team that stacked young. I mean, it is good for him to be challenged, and good for him to lose... but if every game is just a beating, it will cease to be fun.
Two notes for the baby book....
- She finally, after 8 months, cut her first tooth on Friday. Clownfish was the one who discovered it.
- Today she started a spontaneous game of peek-a-boo. She was in her car seat in a shopping cart. She kept picking up a blanket, putting it over her face, and pulling it down quickly.... and laughing. She has done it in the past once or twice, and I've played peek-a-boo with her, but this was the first baby-initiated, much-repeated game I've seen her do.
I applied for a job. It was a long shot, but I really thought that I had a shot for at least an interview. It appears I was wrong. I'm ok about it -- Baby #3 ("Pea" and/or "Boo" in utero) complicates things anyway. But I did get it in my head I would at least make it to the interview stage. Silly me.
(I have yet to be officially rejected. Unofficially....)
In husband news...
Bullshark had a disappointing career development. The upside is, he won't have to travel as much next year as we thought he might have to. Which, with Boo, is probably a good thing. Sucks to see him disappointed, but he said that things work out the way they're supposed to.
I'm beginning to think there is something to that.
Disappointment sucks for you both, I try to believe things happen for a reason. Hard when you're in the middle of it but good perspective,
